Night Shift Order Filler
Reports to: Night Shift Supervisor
As an Night Shift Order Filler for A.J. Lanzarotta Wholesale Fruit & Vegetables Ltd., you will fill orders for our Customers, paying close attention to accuracy and quality standards.
Expectation of Responsible Conduct: Employees of the Night Shift work during hours when the office is closed and there are few people on the premises. As a result, these employees are expected to conduct themselves in a responsible and trustworthy manner, following all policies regarding employee behavior. Failure to do so will result in discipline and could result in employee termination.
Order Filling and Quality Control: At all times, it is the responsibility of order fillers to be conscious of filling orders correctly, which will be facilitated by recognition of product identification signs. In addition, it is also your responsibility to check product to ensure that it is up to the quality standards which our customers expect, and to set aside any product which does not meet those standards. If an order must be filled with product which may be slightly below standard, the Night Shift Supervisor must be informed in order that the customer may be contacted.
Day Shift Order-filling: When necessary, you may be asked to help the day shift staff in filling orders to meet the early run demands of customer orders for the day.
Workplace Sanitation: In addition to ensuring personal cleanliness, it is critical that the warehouse is continually kept in a clean and orderly condition.
Work Attire: All employees of the night shift are to be dressed properly for work, and must wear required safety clothing and accessories.
Hours of Work: Night Shift employees are required to work a six-day week, from Sunday night to Friday night.
4 PM - 1 AM
Knowledge and Skill Required
Prior experience in the produce industry is an asset. Product training may be provided by spending time in the warehouse filling orders, as well as time in Quality Control and
Repack. A strong knowledge of product standards is critical, and eventually it will be an asset to gain knowledge of specific customer requirements. The ability to work cooperatively with others in a close environment is essential to the atmosphere of teamwork in the Warehouse. Concentration and attention to detail are necessary for safety and accuracy in the preparation of customer orders.
